JEE Main Exam Day Guidelines

The day of reckoning has come. The anxiety of students is understandable. Two years’ effort is going to be tested now. In the midst of all the last minute preparation exercises the candidates have to be very clear about the rules and regulations regarding the conduct of the JEE Main exam. This is not another grand test being conducted in the college. JEE Main is a serious affair conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) with very strict rules which need to be adhered to. There is zero tolerance for any deviation. So students and parents are advised to read the following guidelines and adhere to them in toto. These are not exam day tips but guidelines to be followed.

1 Candidates are advised to reach the venue at least one hour before the examination in order to complete the checking and registration formalities. The sequence of activities in JEE Main on the day of the exam and their timelines is as follows:

2 Candidates must carry JEE Main Admit Card (preferably Colour printout) along with the following:
• One passport size photograph (same as uploaded during JEE Main online registration). This photograph will have to be pasted on the attendance sheet at the JEE Main examination centre.
• Any of the following original valid photo identity proof issued by the government (PAN card, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, Aadhaar card with photograph, E-Aadhar, Ration Card, Aadhaar enrollment number with photo).
• PwD certificate issued by competent authority (if applicable).

3 It may be noted that barring the JEE Main admit card and identity proof nothing else will be allowed inside the examination hall.

4 Candidates must follow the instructions as given by the centre superintendent/invigilators strictly.

5 Candidates are advised to take their seat immediately after the opening of the examination hall. They can log-in and read JEE Main instructions, before the commencement of the exam.

6 Pen/Pencil and blank paper for rough work will be provided in the examination hall. Candidates must write their name and roll number at the top of their sheet. This sheet needs to be returned to the invigilator before leaving the examination hall.

7 Candidates appearing for B. Arch. paper must bring their own geometry box set, pencils, erasers and colour pencils or crayons.

8 Candidates will not be allowed to use watercolour on the drawing sheet in the B. Arch. paper.

9 Candidates need to enter the required details in the attendance sheet, affix signature and paste photograph at the designated place.

10 Candidates need to ensure that their left thumb impression is clear and not smudged on the attendance sheet.
